RAK9105U Smart Power Control Datasheet
Overview
Description
The PowerLink RAK9105U is a remote power management device designed for LoRaWAN-enabled networks, allowing users to remotely reboot and control power for gateways, routers, CPEs, and cameras.
Featuring dual 12 V/2 A DC barrel jacks and 5 V/3 A Type-C outputs, it ensures seamless operation in off-grid and remote deployments. With built-in LoRaWAN connectivity, it supports downlink commands or web-based control, reducing costly on-site visits. Powered by DC 9 V–24 V or RAK Battery Plus, the RAK9105U is an ideal solution for network resilience, IoT automation, and industrial applications.
When powered by the RAK Battery Plus, it can report over LoRaWAN the status of the Battery Plus.

Hardware
The hardware specifications are categorized into six parts. The section discusses the interfacing and corresponding functions, electrical, environmental characteristics, and antennas.
Interface
DC Output
There are three DC output connectors - two with Barrel Jacks and one with a Type-C connector.
- Output 1 - is unmanageable and remains continuously active.
- Output 2 and Output 3 - are manageable and can be turned on or off as needed.
DC Input and Console
- DC Input: The DC Input Port (Barrel Jack) is used to provide power from an additional power source in the range of 9-24 V.
- Type-C console port: A Type-C console port is provided to configure the RAK3172 with AT commands and/or update the firmware.
- Power and RS485 Input for RAK9155 Battery Plus: The Phoenix connector for the Battery Plus is а DC and RS485 input connector - two pins for power supply and two pins for RS485 (A & B).
- +: Connect to the positive output terminal of Battery Plus
- -: Connect to the negative output terminal of Battery Plus
- A: Connect to RS485+ of Battery Plus
- B: Connect to RS485- of Battery Plus

Battery Plus Information
RAK9105U uses the RAK3172 module to read and report the battery data over LoRaWAN. By default, it uses the integrated PCB antenna on the PCB. An optional i-PEX connector option can be requested.
Software
The firmware is based on RUI3 and comes pre-flashed.
It includes default LoRaWAN keys, which are provided on a label on the device’s casing.
The ATC+SENDFREQ
command allows users to set or retrieve the automatic sending interval in minutes (1–1440 minutes).
